Hola soy Cris Alvizo

Acerca de mí

My name is Cris Alvizo (on facebook is Cris Alvizu). All of my friends call me taco (love eating at taco bell). I graduated high school in 2010. I attended BYU-Idaho for 3 semesters before finally making the decision of going on my mission to serve. I got called to the Omaha, Nebraska Spanish speaking mission (2012-2014). When I opened my mission call I wasn’t really happy to where I got called to serve because I live in Missouri and Nebraska is only up the road (4 hours away from my house) BUT I have been on my mission for 11months right now and I have learned to love this place. The people are awesome and my companions have taught me life changing things. I am the second oldest of 4 kids (I’m the only boy in the family… -__-). I love my sisters with all my heart. My oldest sister gave me the amazing news that she is expecting a child. My family is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Even if we have our times where we all get mad at each other at the end of the day we know that we can depend on each other for whatever we need. Soccer is my game so if you are reading this and have any friends that aren’t members of the church and would love to play soccer with the Omaha North Spanish missionaries requests our number from your local missionaries. :)

Por qué soy mormón(a)

When I was 14 years old My uncle invited me to his church. I liked it because I got to play with all the other kids. Then the missionaries started coming to our house. My mom let them in to teach me and my 3 sisters. we liked the church and the people. We decided to get baptized on January 21st 2006. 9 months after getting baptized we moved to Missouri. we started to draw away from the church. I have seen In my family since we started to draw away we started to have more problems and my mom and dad would always be arguing and my sisters started to fall as well. During the summer of 2010 June 3rd something happen that day. I lost one of my best friends. We were driving to the lake and a big MoDot truck hit us on the side. It killed my friend on impact. After that day I have asked my self why am I still here on earth? Why did God not take me since I was driving? What is my reason for still being here? Then It hit me. I am still here on earth to to on a mission. To bring more people unto Christ and help them find that happiness that I have recently found. Once I have made that decision to go on my mission I have seen the Lord bless my family. After 20 years of my mom and dad being together they finally got married. and then 1 week before I left on my mission I had the opportunity to baptize my mom. How wonderful is that? I Am a Mormon because I am happy, I am blessed and because the Church is true. Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. He did translate the Book and we will all be able to live with our Father in Heaven once again! :)

La manera en que vivo mi fe

I live my faith right now by being a missionary. I was Called to the Omaha, Nebraska Spanish Speaking mission. Everyday I live my faith. Wake up in the morning pray and Thank God for another day and ask him to help me find people to teach. Then at night I thank him for all that he allowed me to do that day. I provide service for people that are not able to do it themselves. I try to be an example to the people around me. I try to a better person and with time it will come.
