Hi I'm Lacey Woods

I grew up in Las Vegas. I'm LDS and am currently attending Chapman University.

About Me

I am a student at Chapman University in Orange, California. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a psychology major and I love to play the cello.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony is centered around Jesus Christ and His role as my Savior. I have and continue to receive witnesses by the power of the Holy Ghost, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God. Because I believe these things are true, I am totally committed to being a member of the LDS church. I am so grateful for the confirming witness that I have and continue to receive, for as a result, I am motivated me to be the best person I can be. I am not perfect, but I can feel my Savior's love for me, which shines through and motivates me to try my best to be more like Him, every day. I also derive great strength from knowing that God answers my prayers, that I have direct access to Him and can receive insight and direction through the Holy Ghost about what He would have me do. Because of the light which I receive, which I have obtained through study and faith, I have the tools I need to become the best person I can possibly be! Thanks to my Savior's infinite atoning sacrifice, I have the capacity to achieve far more than I ever could on my own, and one day return to His presence. I love my Savior and am so grateful for the hope and strength He gives me. My religion is the meaning and purpose of my life!

How I live my faith

I am going to put my cello career on hold to serve a mission in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 18 months starting the end of February. I am thrilled because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I will learn and grow so much!!! Though I will miss my cello and my family, I know this is the most important and worthwhile decision I've made thus far, and that I won't ever regret it! There's no one else I'd rather serve than God. I know He will bless me for my service. He has blessed me SO MUCH in my life, that I owe Him all that I am. I'm putting my cello future and my life completely in His hands for the next year and a half. It is a leap of faith, but I am confident that He has a much better plan for my life than I do, for He is perfect and all-knowing. He knows me better than I know myself. If I will put all my trust in Him, everything will be alright and things will work out far better than I could have imagined. I love going to church, studying the gospel and learning new insights about the scriptures. I attend Institute every week on campus at Chapman, and I LOVE it!! I love reading and studying the Book of Mormon, for it is such a beautiful and inspired work. I can literally feel the power and truth of the words when I read from the Book of Mormon. I love going to the temple, what a sacred and beautiful place. I love spending time with my family. I'm so grateful that I am able to live with them forever, and that I have the opportunity to live with God again.
