Hi I'm Holly

I serve on Temple Square, and in The Ohio Columbus Mission. I love food.

About Me

I took a break from going to college to become a nurse to serve a full-time mission. I love playing volleyball, being outside, being around family and friends, and I love food. I like to make people laugh, and do whatever I can to make their day better. I love seeing change. I love being active, but I also love being lazy and doing absolutely nothing once in a while. I was a bank teller and a CNA, but right now I'm a full-time missionary! My life has never been better. I know who I am. I do what makes me happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I guess for me, it all started even before I was born. My parents were told from the beginning to have me aborted because I wouldn't live. Instead, they decided to have hope until there was no hope left. My mother's water broke at 20 weeks. She remained on bed rest until 30 weeks when she went into labor. I was born 10 weeks early and spent 3 months in the NICU.Today, I have no lasting health issues. For that reason, I've always known that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and has a divine plan for me and that I am on this earth for a special purpose. I think I found part of that purpose when I was called to be a missionary in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission! I get to share what is near to my heart with many people every day for 18 months. In hard times of trials, I've felt comfort and peace from our Heavenly Father, and I want to help others find that peace that has carried me. I left my family for 18 months to help other families be together for eternity. Heaven wouldn't be Heaven without our families. I know with no doubt in my mind that this church is true. I know our Savior atoned for us. He took upon him all the sins, struggles, sicknesses, sufferings, and pains of every person in the world so that we wouldn't be alone, and that we may have the opportunity to live with God forever. I know that God has a divine plan of happiness for all of us, and even when trials become almost too hard to bear, I know that he will help us through those trials because the plan He made for us leads us back to him. I know the Church was restored through Joseph Smith, who is a true Prophet. I know he translated the Book of Mormon with heavenly help, and I testify that that book is true and will bring happiness into our lives. I know we have a modern day Prophet, Thomas S. Monson who is called of God. He receives revelation through the Lord. I know life is hard, but the Gospel makes it worth it.

How I live my faith

Right now I have set aside 18 months of my life to serve a mission. I am serving on Temple Square in SLC, UT, and also in The Ohio Columbus Mission for a little while. The most important thing to me is Jesus Christ. When I was baptized, I promised that I would stand as a witness for Him at all times. This is how I try to live my faith. Not just now as a missionary, but for eternity, I will do my best to help others return to His fold. Another important thing to me is going to church on Sunday to partake of the Sacrament. It gives me the opportunity to renew my covenants, and learn and grow in my love and understanding of our Savior. Going to church on Sunday helps me to be prepared for the next week. One thing that has become one of my favorite things is sharing my testimony. I love to share with others the things that I know because not only can it help strengthen their faith, but it strengthens mine. Attending church allows the Spirit of the Holy Ghost to be with me at all times. My goal in life is to continue to become a better person, and that is exactly what attending church does.
