Hi I'm Brian

I am a singer. I am a disciple of Christ. I am happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Life couldn't get better for the 20 year-old boy that I am. I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission, and as a missionary I have the wonderful opportunity to teach others about Gospel of Jesus Christ. I say my life couldn't get any better because my life is completely focused on others! Outside of missionary life I love to sing! My dream is to be a member of the BYU Singers chamber choir. Singing is one of the greatest ways I have found to express my love for the Savior and for others. I also love to be outside playing sports or doing any sort of physical activity. I am the third to youngest in a family of 11 kids. I love family!! My life would be incomplete without family! Five of my siblings are my cousins by blood and the other five are my actual siblings. That has proved to be a difficulty so many times! But the most amazing thing is that we are all united and we all love each other so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is taught in the scriptures since I was very young. "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." -Acts 2:38 With every childish mistake I made, I learned from my parents that the feelings of guilt that I had could be washed away as I repented (asked for forgiveness and changed) and was baptized. As I grew up that guided my life. I had a sure knowledge that I could change. I could be forgiven and that forgiveness always brought me happiness. Every time I repented it made me want to be a better person. It made me want to follow God. That is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:19 The reason why I am Mormon is because of the priesthood organization that the Lord Jesus Christ left with us by calling his twelve apostles and giving them power and authority from on high. This work is not man's work, but God's. To do God's work we must have God's guidance and authority. Why else would Peter need the keys that Christ gave him over heaven and earth? I know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His word tells us. And if it were not so, God would cease to be God. Because of God's love for us, he has restored that same organization on the Earth today through a living prophet. This is a message that I have come to know is absolutely true, and has blessed my life with such security and hope in my life. The hope that we all have in our Savior Jesus Christ is strengthened by a sure knowledge that his power and authority is once again here on Earth. I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ! And I am so grateful for his Gospel which draws us closer to Him each day!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways each day. First of all I answer the call to preach the Gospel to everyone. Each and every day that is my purpose as a missionary. Many people when they hear the word "preach" they feel like they are getting taught in church or something and that it really is not necessarily meaningful to them. But I try to live my life after the example of Jesus Christ. I try to teach like him. I try to love like he did. I try to server others as he did. For me that is the most important thing; we must all follow the example of Jesus Christ. I live my faith by knowing what it is. I take time each day to study the scriptures and to study what God tells us in his holy scriptures. Otherwise, I would be lost! I live my faith by continually strengthening my knowledge and understanding of God's nature. I also live my faith by praying and counseling with God. In the scriptures we are taught to include God in the details of our lives. I am so grateful that we can turn to Him through prayer to receive the guidance or assurance that we need to be able to move forward. And as I pray, I put my trust in Him and move forward with confidence and strength.
