Hi I'm India

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm a swimmer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid swimmer and a competitive poet. I love being out of doors on hike, bike rides, ect. I am preparing to serve a mission in Comayaguela, Honduras. When I return home I plan to commit to a bachelors degree in....whatever I decide to study!!

Why I am a Mormon

When you pray, does it ever feel like your words just bounce off the ceiling? I feel that sometimes. But I know that our Father in Heaven hears our prayers. Why? Because we are his children. I didn't always know that He cared so much. I had to find out for myself whether or not God really cares. The by the power of the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Godhead, I was able to understand that I am loved. When I count my blessings, I can't even reach the number ten without seeing Gods hand in my life. I am a witness of Jesus Christ. He lives! He was born in the meridian of time. Christ did suffer in Gethsemane for us. He was crucified for us. Why? So He save us from our sins if we choose to follow Him and His commandments. How incredibly beautiful that is! How grateful I am! That Jesus Christ came here so he could comfort me and take upon Him all of my hurt and pain and sins. There is a way out of this blackness in life, and the way is Christ. We have a living prophet today, who also witnesses of Christ. He receives revelation for this church and leads us. The prophet speaks wisdom and truth. Have you listened to him yet?

How I live my faith

I know the Savior loves EVERYONE, otherwise He never would have come here. I want people to realize that they are special, that they are worth saving. I have worked with young girls ages 12-18 and helped them find confidence in themselves and faith in Christ. I love to visit the sister in my ward. Just to be there for them and to support them in whatever they are doing.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

When you schedule a visit with a doctor, is it because you are healthy? Usually not. Did Christ only help the righteous people of His time? He blessed and taught the sick, the miserable, the sinners, plus those who were possessed by evil spirits. Because everyone is worth saving. As Christians, Christ is the center of Mormonism. We know that every individual who has walked this earth is worth being loved. You, me, even the nomads in the dry plains of Africa, a lowly farmer in Asia, the businessman in freezing Russia, the single mother in New Mexico, the abuela in Central America, the inmates at Tent City Jail, -EVERYONE is loved by Heavenly Father and the Savior. So why should we ignore anyone? Joseph Smith himself taught that we are "to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all." Are Mormons Christians?

Are Mormons Christians? The name of the Mormon church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Did you zone out when I said that? I know it's a long title. Everything we do as Mormons is because of Christ. Think about it- charities, service, baptism, recognizing His atoning sacrifice- that's what we stand for. Christ showed us how. His teachings and works are the HEART OF OUR FAITH. Is He at the heart of yours? If so, then you are probably a Christian too :) Show more Show less
