Hi I'm Hannah Barrett

I like rainy days, reading, and running slowly. I'm a nursing major at BYU-Provo, and I am (surprise!) a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Hannah. I go to BYU-Provo but am currently taking a break to serve in the Denmark Copenhagen mission for 18 months. I'm a military brat - my dad has been in the Air Force most of my life. We've lived in 6 different places, but home for me is Rapid City, South Dakota. I think that everywhere I've lived has been special in its own way, and moving so often has made me interested in traveling everywhere and meeting all kinds of people!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I LOVE how much peace and joy I feel as a member of the church! Sometimes, I wonder what my life would be like if I wasn't a Mormon -- would I be happier? Would life be easier because I would fit in more with my peers? Where would I be? In the end, I always know that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes me feel complete. I wouldn't live my life any other way. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, and because of that I can repent when I make mistakes. Thank goodness for that, because I make a LOT of mistakes! I love that I can repent and feel clean again. It gives me hope for the future. I know that Heavenly Father truly is my father, and He loves me. He knows my name; he knows who I am. I know that families can be together forever, and I think that's great! My family is so important to me. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet today. The Book of Mormon is true! The more I read it, the more I learn about myself and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for the opportunities I have had in life and that my future is bright. Heavenly Father has truly blessed me in every way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day as a missionary. The decision to go on a mission was an act of faith for me, and I am realizing more and more every day how big of a decision that was. I am so grateful I did, because my testimony has grown SO much already! It's hard to be away from my family, but I am glad I have such an amazing family to miss. I hope to be able to help the people of Denmark have the kind of joy my family and I have.

What is faith?

Hannah Barrett
Faith is believing without seeing. Having faith is more than just a feeling; it's an action. The most important kind of faith is Faith in God. I have faith that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and that His Atonement clears away my sins through true repentance. Every time I repent of a sin, I have faith, or a hope, that the Atonement will work for me. When I truly repent, my faith is rewarded with forgiveness and I feel clean again. Faith really does bring about miracles. It's amazing! Show more Show less
