We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Derek Wengert

I believe life is not complete without family, food, and sports. I am a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Derek. I grew up in a small town in Arizona just outside of Tucson. Growing up I was always participating in some kind of sport, whether it be football, basketball, baseball, soccer, really any kind of sport. I played sports all the way through high school and had the time of my life. I feel there are so many lessons that one can learn from playing sports and that is one of the reasons why I love them so much.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I always kind of depended on the knowledge of my parents. If somebody asked me if I believed in Jesus Christ and our church, i would just answer the way I learned from my parents. But as I got older and felt for myself the peace and joy that comes from the gospel, I realized the importance of it and recieved a testimony of my own. And now, with the testimony that I have grown, I would not have it anyway. We have protection here in our church, and through that protection you find eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I have always loved this gospel and realized the happiness and the blessings that come from living the Lord's teachings. I love missionary work and everything about it. The joy one feels when you participate in bringing someone into the gospel is truly amazing. As of now I am serving as a full time missionary in the Argentina Mendoza Mission. It has been one of the toughest things I have ever done, but at the same time, one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It truly is amazing to see the small miracles of the Lord on a daily basis.
