Hi I'm Joseph Wrangler Hart

I was born in Nashville, Tennesse, but moved around after that. I studied Digital Cinema before my mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was freshman in College studying Digital Cinema before going to serve a mission for the LDS church. I love making films, and often work as a Boom Operator and Audio Mixer for the productions I've worked on. I also love growing plants, in particular carnivorous plants. In my spare time I love to read, design video games, and longboard.

Why I am a Mormon

As long as I can remember my family always went to the LDS church. To be honest though, I didn't really think that much about it growing up. It's not that I didn't believe what they were teaching, or that I thought it was bad. Religion just wasn't a focus for me growing up. When I was twelve, I watched my best friend Sam died of heart failure at a scout camp, and I had a really hard time coping with that. For me, I didn't really know where to turn to, but I had always heard my teachers at church talk about Christ being able to be there for us when we're going through trials in our life. That was the point that I started trying to read the Book of Mormon every day, and praying to God hoping that He would be there to help me. My testimony was still very rough for the next couple of years, but since that time I've come to know that Christ and Heavenly Father care about me and the issues I have going on in my life. They know me on a level that nobody else can, and have been a huge support in my life. I am a member of the LDS church because I want to be, because I know that the church facilitates me to come closer to Christ and God and to become a better person so I can find happiness in my life that it would be impossible for me to find otherwise. I love the church, and the way it brings the light of Christ into my life.

How I live my faith

Before serving a mission, I was called to be an advisor for the 16-18 year old boys in my ward. My role was to participate in their activities and trips to help guide them and make sure they stayed safe. I wasn't able to participate as often as I would have liked because of college, but I believe that the church is about doing our best, and that's all that Christ cares about. I also frequently visited some family members in my ward to help them as they were going through hard times. I believe that Christ wants us to be there to support and love others as they're going through a hard time, and I did my best to try to help others when I sensed they needed somebody to talk to, or just to be there to help.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Joseph Wrangler Hart
No way! The church has many humanitarian aid efforts, and has donated more than $1 billion in cash and material assistance to 167 different countries in need of aid! A lot of these countries don't have a lot of mormons, but the church loves to help them. I don't believe that Christ would want any of those who believe in Him to ignore the needs of others. The church is a place for anybody who is in need to turn to, regardless of their religious beliefs. Show more Show less
