Hi I'm Akira!

I am from Idaho, currently preparing to serve as a missionary in the Columbus, Ohio Mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I just finished my first year of college and am now preparing to become a full-time missionary in Columbus, Ohio! When I return home, I hope to finish my degree in Secondary Education and become a high school teacher! I’m a reader; an appreciator of language; an avid music listener; a Costa Vida and smoothie junkie; an amateur graphic designer, photographer, artist, baker, singer, crafter, and instrument player; a traveling enthusiast; a Disney and Harry Potter nerd; a lover of the arts; and a Virgo, ENFP, LDS, typical teenage girl. I love talking to people and exploring the many diverse views of this world. I enjoy the small, simple things in life that make it so much better like sunsets, dancing in the rain, snow globes, jamming to sweet tunes with your BFF, and mint lip gloss. Nights that are my favorite are spent laughing with my friends and family. Whether it be watching a cheesy chick flick, screaming Broadway/Disney music at the top of our lungs, serving others, reading slam poetry, attending the temple, adventuring in the mountains, or baking some wicked cupcakes, it is always better with them!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon and I can't imagine what my life would be like without my beliefs! This gospel brings so much peace! Even when I make mistakes, I am given millions of second chances to return to my Savior's loving arms. Besides the blessings I've seen in my own life, I have seen the gospel bless my family's lives as well. When we have mourned the loss of a loved one or struggled to find our way through this life, the knowledge that families can be united eternally and that we have modern-day prophets sent to lead and guide us has always gotten us through. I have witnessed for myself the cleansing power of the Atonement and the love God has for each and every one of His children. He wants us all to return home to Him! I know that by following the teachings of the Lord, Jesus Christ, this is possible and we can live with our Father in Heaven again!

How I live my faith

I have always had many opportunities to live my faith. As a youth, I had many chances to lead and participate in the young women's activities in my ward. I grew a love for each of the girls I served and strengthened my testimony so much through those experiences! Currently, I serve as a ward missionary and Sunday School teacher in my ward and am preparing to be a full-time missionary where I will strive to be an example to others daily and share my love for the gospel with them!
