Hi I'm Aubrey

I'm a high school graduate with a year of college down; I want to major in Marketing. I'm leaving to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Utah. I graduated from high school about a year ago, and have spent a wonderful year at college. I put in my papers to serve a mission and have been called to serve in Brazil. I report in a couple of weeks and I could not be happier! Some things I like to do are read, sleep, dance, cook, draw, listen to music, and spend time with others! Every person has something to share with the world and I love making new friends. Chocolate is an obsession of mine. Sarcasm is my second language and puns are life! I often get caught in embarrassing situations and have to laugh it off.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church, but I have truly come to know for myself the truth of this gospel. Every time I read the Book of Mormon and truly ponder it in my heart, I can FEEL the Spirit testifying of the truths. When I read it, I feel like I can see beyond the human tendencies of my personality to the pathways I need to take to become a better person, full of love and service towards others. There have been several personal experiences in my life that have converted me to this gospel. After meeting with my church leader about my decision to go on a mission, I felt a strong impression that I was where God wanted me to be. I know that God is aware of each of us and has a plan for every one of us individually. He loves us and I hope to help others realize it!

How I live my faith

From the time I was 12, I had the opportunity to serve in my church callings. From the time I was 12 to the time I was 18, I have been able to organize activities for girls my age. It's been such a blessing in my life to be able to plan things that I think they would have fun with. Since graduating from high school, I have been given the assignment to visit with other women within our ward. It has been so amazing to get to know other girls and to be able to serve them! It is from these experiences that I have come to know that each person is significant!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are just like any other women. They enjoy strong friendships with others, strive to serve others and the Lord, and love their families. We do believe in the equality of men and women, however, they have separate responsibilities and roles in the family unit. Mothers are to teach their children, and fathers are to provide for their families. Parents should support each other in their respective roles. Both should have a strong presence in their family by disciplining and caring for their children. Each family situation is different, so these responsibilities should be tailored to each family individually. These guidelines are established so as to create strong family units. Parents need to work together to have strong, healthy relationships and to make decisions together. Show more Show less
