Hi I'm Evleen

I am a student at UVU. I am going on a mission to Kentucky. I love my family. I am very passionate about the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything outdoors, such as hiking and biking, or the more adventurous things like river rafting. I find quiet activities like reading, drawing, or working on puzzles very relaxing. I absolutely love animals. I love spending time with my family. They are the greatest friends in my life. I am currently working towards my bachelor's degree in biotechnology. I completed my associate's degree while still in high school. I am taking a brief pause from school, though, in order to go on a mission. Which I am completely excited about :).

Why I am a Mormon

To me, Christ's gospel is the one thing I can remain passionate about. Many other things that I like I've had to push away in my life to make room for studying for school or some other priority. Me clinging to the gospel and to my family is the only thing that has really made school easier for me. There are so many small and simple blessings in my life that I know are from the Lord. I can feel His love when I read His scriptures or follow the teachings of His prophets. In the Bible we are taught that Christ came to Earth to help us, to suffer, to die, and to live again for us. I know that He loves me and I want to return to Him and to our Heavenly Father. Because They are real and because They love us I have chosen to follow Them. This is why I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is why I am a Mormon. Because God and Christ love us, and I feel that in my life.

How I live my faith

I love church and have recently been going to a ward with my brothers that is specifically for young single adults. It's been amazing and I've been participating in as many activities as I can. I also love the temple and find joy in going there often. One of the best things about living the gospel is how my family can live it together at home. It is great being able to discuss scriptures, words from modern day prophets, or just our general views on church with my family. I know we are blessed for having a home centered around Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Evleen
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection for us so we can overcome sin and become perfect like He is. We can daily use His Atonement in our lives to become better and to repent of things that we have done wrong. It was necessary for Christ to sacrifice His life so He could break the bonds of death and become resurrected. His resurrection and power over death will allow all of us to someday become resurrected too. Show more Show less
