Hi I'm Kennedi Cook

I'm daughter number 5 out of 6, born and raised in Utah, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Growing up, I did ballet and other types of dance, and played the piano. All of my older sisters did the same, so of course I wanted to follow in their footsteps! Both of my parents are very musical so music has always been a huge part of my life. I quit dancing senior year, except for the one ballet class I took during my first semester at BYU! I love learning about other people, and growing from them. I love teaching and playing with children, and hope to have my own classroom one day. I love life and everything that comes with it. And I love the gospel of Jesus Christ more than anything else!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in Utah, most of the people around me were LDS. My parents were both raised in the church, and they raised me and my sisters very well, in a Christ centered home. There came a point in my life that I had to gain a testimony for MYSELF. Not because everyone around me believed it, not because my parents believed it, but because I wanted to. I have learned through my personal conversion that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true church on the earth today. I know that by keeping the commandments, saying daily prayers, reading the scriptures everyday, serving those around me, and attending my church meetings, I can and will find joy. I know that I am a child of God and I have a loving Father in Heaven who knows ME specifically. I know that He sent His son Jesus Christ to atone for my sins, to suffer so that I don't have to . I know that through this Atonement I can be cleansed from all of my wrongdoings and return to live with my Father in Heaven again. I know that the Holy Ghost has guided me and comforted me throughout my life, and through this Spirit I am able to receive revelation from God and feel His presence with me. I would not be where I am today without this gospel and I am so grateful for the person I have become because of it. I know that I must do my part, and put in effort, in order to receive the blessings. I'm so grateful for Heavenly Father's plan for me and I have full faith in it. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints repeatedly amazes me with its complete perfectness, and I do my best to bring others unto this truth everyday.

How I live my faith

I don't have a current calling in my ward, but in just 3 weeks I'll be leaving to serve a full time mission for the church in Torreon, Mexico, and I am so excited! This gospel brings me true joy and I can't wait to share that joy with others. Growing up, I worked a lot with my fellow young women and youth of our ward. I helped plan events, visit the youth, teach them, and so on. It was a great learning experience for me and taught me a lot of things that will be important for me to utilize on my mission!
