Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Oregon. I studied at Brigham Young University and will soon be a missionary in Salta, Argentina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid runner and soccer player. I've run two half-marathons, and hope to soon run a full marathon. I'm from a family of seven boys and love to spend time with my siblings. I play the piano, French Horn, and sing wherever I go. I love to learn, especially about math, science, and engineering. I'm a college student majoring in mechanical engineering and I work near horses in the country. I will soon be a missionary serving in Salta, Argentina, after which I will continue my studies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it helps me become more like Jesus Christ. I have seen the principles of the gospel of His church change who I am. They have strengthened my family relationships as I have learned to become more patient, more kind, and more service-minded. As I have served in family history roles, I have come to care about people, and I recognize how the church blesses them eternally. Being a Mormon has taught me to love to learn, be it studying the scriptures or solving calculus problems. I have become more virtuous, holding myself to a moral code and purifying my thoughts. I know that the gospel helps me recognize my potential and divine nature.

How I live my faith

During the last year, I helped youth my age identify their ancestors as I served in family history. I also served in a leadership position for Sunday School helping teachers effectively prepare to share doctrine with members of the ward. I served as a student at college by helping other students with class work. At home, I have helped with community service providing aid during the holidays. I also love to serve in simple ways such as baking food and taking it to neighbors.
