Hi I'm Zack

I was born and raised in Hawaii, and I'm now attending the United States Naval Academy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in Hawaii, I've always loved the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, camping, and most of all, hanging out at the beach with friends and family. I love body surfing and body boarding. In high school I competed on the Varsity cross country, wrestling, and judo teams. I now attend the United States Naval Academy in order to pursue my dream of becoming a naval aviator. I am also preparing to serve a full-time mission in the Ivory Coast.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so I grew up learning the teaching of the LDS church. For a while I struggled to gain my own testimony that the church was true instead of hearing it being spoken time and time again by others. I was able to gain one through a culmination of seminary participation, personal scripture study, and Sunday church talks and discussions.

How I live my faith

As a youth in my ward, I held various leadership roles within my ward. I also served as my father's home teaching companion as I grew older. I strive to live my faith by setting my moral standards high for not only myself, but others who I care about so as to be a positive influence. I end each day by reading a chapter of scripture and finishing with a prayer in order to keep myself focused on what truly matters in life.
