Hi I'm Seneca Rogers

I grew up in Idaho and am an aunt to 15 nieces and nephews. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my Freshman year in college and am preparing to serve a mission in Brazil. I love ballroom dance and was on a competition team for four years. I want to learn ballet someday. I have been in an A Capella choir and a Jazz choir, and want to continue to improve my singing. I play the violin, ukulele, guitar, and a little bit of piano. I come from a big family and love spending time with them. I look forward to being a mom someday and think that it is such an important role.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can't imagine what my life would be like now without it. Even though I was raised Mormon, I feel that I have gained my own personal witness and testimony of it. There have been times in my life where I questioned my faith and didn't quite know what I believed. Through study and prayer, I have learned of the truth for myself. I know that this is Christ's church. It was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. Restored is not the same thing as reformed. Restored means that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the same within the LDS church as it was when Christ was here on earth leading it. We have modern day prophets and apostles, the same as Christ had. They are necessary and receive revelation to guide us in the path that God wants us to go. While a prophet stands at the head of this church, we are ultimately led by God and His son, Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Light enters my life when I read it. The peace and understanding that comes from it is undeniable. It helps me understand the doctrines and principles taught in the Bible better. It adds on to them and clarifies them. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on earth with the full gospel of Jesus Christ, as it was restored by him through a modern prophet, and is still led by Him today in the same way. I know this to be true, and I know that anyone can learn that for themselves through humble prayer and study.

How I live my faith

I love going to church on Sundays and attending other events with people in my ward throughout the week. I serve those in my ward by talking to them, trying to help meet their needs, and just by being a friend to them. I lead the music during church, and teach the adult women every month. Sometimes as a ward or stake we do service projects, which are always fun and rewarding experiences. Everyday I study scriptures and/or talks from leaders of my church to learn more and be uplifted.
