Hi I'm Cassidy

I grew up in Bountiful. I am obsessed with movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year of college and now I have been called to serve the people of Michigan for a year and a half. I love almost anything that has to do with music and I can pretty much recite the whole musical Hamilton from memory. Even though I haven't been very many places, I like to go on trips with my friends and family. Most recently I went on a service trip to San Diego to learn about immigration issues.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up with the church around me. From the time I was little I was taught about different concepts and doctrines and told that they were true. However, we all get to that phase of life where we need to know for ourselves. There comes a time, just like in any class in school, when the teacher has done all they can do and it is up to the student to decide if it is right. I had to do so in my own life. As I entered my teenage years I really wanted to find out for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. I prayed, I read my scriptures, I continued to attend all of my church meetings and live the principles I had been taught as I searched for my answer. One Sunday I was in a lesson and I got this feeling that I can still remember to this day. I can't explain it... I just knew. I knew that the church was true. I knew that my Heavenly Father loved me. I knew that these stories I had been told my whole life really did happen. I knew that my Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered for all of my sins, pains, and afflictions. I knew that no matter what, as long as I did the best I could, I could live with my Heavenly Father again. After gaining this knowledge I did even more to learn about this gospel that I had received knowledge of. I wanted to share it with others, so I did... and I continue to do so. I read my scriptures, go to church, I pray, and always remember what I know. And as I do this I try to set an example for others. So that they many see how happy the gospel has made me and want to know how they can obtain that same happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

As a youth I helped to plan activities for other youth in my age group. This gave me the chance to learn about others and how to cater to the needs of a large group of people. More recently I was called to lead the music in the group that I meet with for lessons when I go to church. I try as often as I can to try and teach others about my point of view on things and it is always interesting to see when someone else may see things differently than I do.
