Hi I'm Emily

I'm a college student in Utah. Soon I'll be a missionary in Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year at Utah State University! I'll be entering the teaching program when I get back from my mission. I love humanitarian work and music!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that a lot of people believe that individuals who were raised in the church, don't really choose to be a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The way I think about it though, is that every member of the church has their own conversion experience. Individuals either choose to join the church, or they choose to stay in the church. I've been blessed to be raised as a member the church, and as a result I have had countless experiences that have strengthened my testimony and have given me a reason to stay. These experiences range from having prayers answered, to receiving my patriarchal blessing, to meeting people that have helped blessed my life. One of my biggest testimony builders was the experience that I had when I was part of a humanitarian trip in Belize. I was able to help build an elementary school, visit the Mayan ruins, and connect with the amazing branch members there. While serving there, I was able to go on splits with the sister missionaries. I was able to meet a man that had never had anything to do with the church, and we were able to share our message with him. I felt a very special spirit when he said the closing prayer with us, and I know that Heavenly Father led us to that man for a reason. I love this gospel with my whole heart, and I know that it's the reason why I get to have pure happiness in my life.

How I live my faith

Since I only moved home from college a few weeks ago, I don't have a calling in my current ward. This past year however, I have been able to serve as the Family Home Evening Coordinator! This means that I was able to plan weekly activities for the other young adults that were in my ward.
