Hi I'm Sadie Smith

I am the only member in an inactive/nonmember family, I am going to serve as a missionary in Osorno, Chile, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my first year of college and I had some of the best experiences there making some amazing new friends and seeing myself being prepared by the Lord to serve as a missionary. I used to play softball, and I miss the sport a lot, but I now enjoy watching my little sister play. She plays first base just like I did; she is amazing at it and I like to say I'm the one who taught her everything she knows. I have recently learned how to do Family History Work and I love discovering my ancestors and doing their temple work for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a nonmember home, but I had such sweet grandparents that would take my siblings and I to church. For a time, I stopped attend church with my grandparents, but when I turned 12 my grandma told me I was going to girl's camp, which is an opportunity for the Young Women of the church (ages 12-18) to spend a week camping in God's creations and to grow closer to Him and the other Young Women. I was nervous, I'm not sure I really wanted to go, but I am forever grateful I did. Girl's camp was the first time I can remember feeling the spirit and the love of my Heavenly Father. One evening during the week the Bishop of our ward comes and we all sit around the fire and share our testimonies, or beliefs, of God and His son Jesus Christ and the influence they have had in our lives personally. This was the first time I bore my testimony, and I don't remember a word I said, but the Holy Ghost completely overtook me and I cried and felt so much love. My faith increasingly continues to grow as I daily pray to my Heavenly Father and feel of His love for me and see the blessings He freely gives me, usually through others around me. I strive to be an instrument in His hands to show all of His children the love He has for them.

How I live my faith

As of right now, I am preparing to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to a Spanish speaking country, so I am trying my best to get prepared for a new language. I plan on getting together with the local missionaries in my area and finding opportunities to teach with them.
