Hi I'm Gwen

I grew up in a small town in Washington, homeschooled and part of a big family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the gospel, I love music, I'm a bookworm, I draw, I write, I love photography, I love to travel, especially want to go to Ireland and Japan, I'm introverted, I love Owl City, the Piano Guys, I'm a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, Studio Ghibli and C.S. Lewis, I'm one of ten kids, I love the ocean, and I love nature.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager I realized I needed my own testimony. I had relied on others beliefs and I couldn't do that anymore. Just growing up, becoming my own person, I needed to know things for myself. There were so many opinions, so many beliefs, everything pulling me every which way. I was confused, lost and unsure of what to do. I had so many un answered questions. Is the church really the true church? Do we really have a living prophet? I finally took up the offer Alma gives in the Book of Mormon, to test and experiment on the words. It required effort and desire on my part, and I fought for my testimony! I tested and tried it all. It took time, and the more I worked at it, the more I realized and knew for myself that yes, the church is true, it was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith, we do have a living prophet today, and yes, the Book of Mormon is a living testament of the Savior and true. The peace, the confidence and the happiness that comes to me now is amazing! There is no other feeling to compare it to. Nothing can compare to the joy the gospel brings. It truly is the "good news". Every time I open the Book of Mormon, I feel that same secure peaceful feeling. I am so grateful that I am a member, that I am blessed beyond measure to know of these things myself. I am so grateful for the gospel! I testify that we do have a Savior, Jesus Christ, and He loves us beyond comprehension. He suffered for me, for you, and for everyone who has lived, who lives now, and who will yet live. We have a loving Heavenly Father and we are His precious children. We are ALL children of God, and of value to Him more than we can imagine. And this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is His beautiful restored church! Led by a living prophet. Of this I know and testify with my whole being!

How I live my faith

I'm a primary worker in my branch, I teach the kids music every Sunday, often substituting for class teachers or the pianist, and I am currently getting ready to serve a full time mission.
