Hi I'm Roger

I'm a student. I'm an Athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Austin, Texas until my family up and moved to Idaho. I like almost anything active and outdoors, but I also prefer sleeping in a bed over a sleeping bag. I am a collegiate swimmer and have spent most of my high school years at the local pool for one activity or another. These activities included my own personal swim practice, life guarding, teaching swim lessons to kids, etc. I'm currently attending college in Utah. my family and I are huge movie buffs and appreciate the classics along with the latest to come out of Hollywood. I love Broadway and deeply appreciate musical talent because it is something I definitely don't possess.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing brings peace to my soul as this church does to mind. I have grown an incredible relationship with Jesus Christ. He lives and He directs the work of this church. I know that God will never desert me. I love Him with all my might. Christ gives me the strength necessary to get through hard times and He's blessed me with a family that supports and uplifts me in my dreams and aspirations. I am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I have dealt primarily with youth groups in my assignments and callings. I look for neighborhood activities and desire to be friends with those I live around. I served a mission in Gilbert, Arizona for 2 years where I spent everyday proclaiming to people on the streets that God loves them and hasn't forgotten them. I don't mind the heat as long as I'm spreading the good word of God.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

I love my family. They give me the opportunity to experience what I need in order to have other positive relationships. In my family we learn how to love and serve each other. We know that our families are bound together forever. That let's me know that I can mess up with my siblings as many times as I want and not worry about losing them. The family is the central unit on which society relies. If there are no families, then society could not function. Families are the means for bringing children into the world where they can be loved, provided for, and taught truth and righteousness. Even though we can't choose the situations of our birth, we get to make decisions each day on how we're going to improve ourselves and our brethren around us. I love that I will be with my family forever and the joyful peace it brings to my soul. Show more Show less
