Hi I'm Nick

I'm a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the piano! I am always either listening, practicing, or learning about piano pieces and composers. I am currently attending college. Family is important to me so I make sure to call them each day! In high school, I played Water Polo and worked as a lifeguard each summer. I also acted in musical theater. Some other fun things I enjoy doing are singing, backflips in the grass, working out, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. My mom was mormon but my dad was not. My two older brothers and two older sisters were very active in being members of the church. I had may path set out for me. I've always been able to look to the example of my family as to what to do. I came to the conclusion that I need to decide for myself what I'm going to do with my future and why I am going to do it. When I was 18 I read the entire Book of Mormon and quite honestly it changed my life. Never had a time reading this book ever hit me so hard. I gained a strong witness that this book is true. It is from God. Having a personal witness of the truthfulness of what is contained in the Book of Mormon changed my life. I know that each of us on earth lived with God before we came to earth. We came because God had a plan to send us to earth to be tested. We are eternal beings, but this mortal life is a test. A test to follow Jesus Christ's example, to follow God's commandments, repent, be baptized and stay faithful to God our entire life. If we do these things I know that when the time this mortal journey is over we will be saved from all of our sins through the atonement of Jesus Christ and be able to live again with our family and God in heaven. This acute understanding of the Book of Mormon and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ gave me purpose to my life. I know that the prophet of this church receives revelation from God, communication with God for all of the world. I know that we can receive our own personal revelation from God.

How I live my faith

At church I am the music coordinator and I volunteer to organize music for our Sunday services. I also occasionally volunteer as a pianist and participate in our congregational choir. I feel that music helps others feel the Holy Spirit in church and I love that I have the opportunity to serve God and my community through my musical talents. I try to stay close to God by praying and reading the Book of Mormon and Bible daily and being honest in all I do. I have accepted a call to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to preach the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Peru.
