Hi I'm Claire

I grew up in Georgia and I've been called to serve a mission in Salt Lake City West, Spanish speaking. I am a Mormon.

About Me

The oldest of four children, I am the peacemaker, diffusing any conflict with a bad knock-knock joke or pun. I have finished my first year at Brigham Young University and am taking a break to serve an 18 month mission in Salt Lake City. I am majoring in English because, unfortunately, BYU does not offer a Jokes or Puns major. I love the humanities, particularly writing and art history.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised by parents that believe in this Church. They taught me about Jesus Christ and families and the Plan of Salvation. From a young age, I have had answers to questions like "What happens after we die?", "Why do we come from?", and "What is my purpose?". The Gospel answers life's questions with answers that make sense to me in my mind and in my heart. Yet, the main reason that I have remained a member of the Church is the happiness I feel because I follow these teachings. When I follow the commandments in the scriptures and obey the counsel of church leaders, I feel peaceful, grateful, and happy. I have come to recognize this feeling as the Spirit of Christ. It fills me with light and makes me want to be a better version of me, a more divine version that is closer to Christ and to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I serve those around me in "small and simple ways". That means contributing to my family's needs and participating in my church activities. I pray for my fellow members and help them when I can. On a mission, service is particularly focused towards sharing the Gospel with others. I teach about the prophet Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, explaining these topics and others to those seeking to learn about the Church.
