Hi I'm Jaque

I am a student in college, a Basketball player, an outdoor lover, from Utah and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town outside of Ogden, Utah. I am a student at Brigham Young University- Idaho and am wanting to major in marriage and family studies. I love being outdoors whether that be hiking, boating, or just playing games. I like to play basketball, volleyball, and most other sports for fun. I enjoy reading, mostly fantasy. I love music. I listen to 60s all the way to modern, but some of my favorites come from the 80s. My family and I have many opportunities to travel and I have come to love experiencing new places. I have grown up Mormon and am currently preparing to serve an LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being active in the church and when I was about 14 I began seeking for my own personal confirmation that what I have been living all my life is indeed the right thing. Through much prayer and study I have gained experiences that strengthen my testimony of the truth of this gospel. As I continue to actively participate in the church and study the doctrine and principals I continue to gain a stronger belief in all of it. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that if we actively study it we will gain spiritual guidance and assurance. I also know that there is a plan for everyone, created by our loving Heavenly Father. I don't know what I would do or where I would be without the Gospel in my life. It is the only thing that brings me true peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly every week, during which I listen to speakers and participate in lessons taught by other women in my church. Through out the week I also visit with the women around my neighborhood to serve them and make sure those in need are being helped.

What is faith?

To have faith means to trust in God. It is taking that step sometimes in the dark and hoping and trusting that there is light ahead. Faith is also not just a choice it is a principal of action. This means you are committed to following God and his divine direction. The way we show ourn faith is by continuing to do the little things to show our faith and dedication to God and by so doing we are able to receive more light and knowledge. We can compare faith to a seed, when you plant it in your heart it will take time and nourishment that comes from studying and prayer, and as time goes on this seed will take root and grow stronger.
