Hi I'm Camryn Taylor

I am from Greenville, North Carolina. I have attended a couple semesters at BYU-Idaho studying Art. And I am a Mormon

About Me

I love playing all types of exercising and sports, my favorite is soccer. I am currently majoring in Art Education at BYU-I, but I am debating changing it to child's therapy. I am the third child of five kids. I have an older brother with Autism and have spent many hours volunteering with the special needs community (i.e. Special Olympics, summer camps, volunteering with children and adults). As of July 2018, I will be serving a full time mission Chile for 18 months and I am very excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a loving home where my parents raised us with the teachings of the gospel. When I was fifteen years old I wanted to know for myself if the church was true. I read through the Book of Mormon and grew a great love for this book. It is full of love and contains the teachings and testimonies of Christ and our Heavenly Father. As I finished reading this wonderful book and prayed about whether it was true, I received an answer to my prayers confirming that this was the word of God and that this was the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I have read the scriptures many times and every time I find new things that help me better understand the teachings of Christ and His gospel. The gospel is like developing a talent. At the beginning I started off with barely enough information to get me through a decent conversation, but as I continued to attend church, study the scriptures, and listen to the words of our prophet and apostles, my knowledge of the gospel and God's Plan grew immensely. I am still yearning to know what God has in store for me. I have grown up in a city where there are not a lot of people with the same standards that I had set for myself and it was hard, but as I kept to my standards I could see the blessing that God was giving me. I had many people ask me why I was different and didn't do what the other teenagers did which gave me opportunities to share my beliefs with teachers and fellow students in my high school. At times I wondered why I was given trials even when I was keeping the commandments and following the teachings of the prophets. I prayed to God and asked for answers and without fail I would receive confirmation that what I was doing aligned with God's Plan for me. Christ lives, I know it and have felt His love constantly in my life. I have a testimony that God is knows what is best for me even if I do not know what it is. The gospel brings me joy and I love being able to constantly share my beliefs and the love I know God has for me.

How I live my faith

In the past I have helped organize activities for the youth including volunteer projects and fun activities where they can grow closer as a community and as a youth group. I currently minister to a couple girls. Ministering means that I am in charge of caring for women in our ward, befriending them and making them feel loved. I also participate with our women's organization where we help women in our community and bigger communities.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Camryn Taylor
Yes, we believe that when we are sealed together as a family we can be together with them forever even after death. I have friends who are are scared of death because they do not know what comes after. The knowledge of eternal families and the Plan of Salvation has given me such great peace. I am one of the lucky ones who have been blessed with a loving family, which is why this is a comfort to me knowing that I have the opportunity to be with my mom and dad and four siblings forever. In Matthew 16:19 Christ gives the keys of the power of sealing to His disciples. This sealing power means that if we are sealed with our families on Earth the sealing will be applicable in Heaven when we eventually die. Show more Show less
