Hi I'm April Hamilton

I'm an Australian with a love of music, woodwork and grated carrot. I'm a Mormon (not a rabbit).

About Me

I am young adult from Australia and have just finished year twelve at high school. I have a love of learning and am always excited to develop my understanding. I have been playing the piano since I was nine and have recently started cello lessons as well. I enjoy using my hands to be creative, whether that is with wood, clay, paint or whatever I have around me. Someday, I would love to do a Luthier course and learn to make a cello. My life's passions also extend to an odd obsession with grated carrot and I believe that a sandwich is not a sandwich without it.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I believe with all my heart that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. He sent His son to earth to set the perfect example for us and to set up His church. I know that my Saviour, Jesus Christ, suffered for my sins, for my sorrows, and for fears. He suffered because He loves me, and because He suffered, I know that He will walk beside me and help me. He literally knows what we feel and will help, comfort, and strengthen us through life's trials. I know that because He suffered, I can find power and peace to forgive others, and myself. I have literally felt His power lift my feelings of guilt, anger, and hurt. I choose to be a Mormon because of the true joy, purpose, and direction it brings into my life. I am not perfect and I do not know everything, but I do know without a shadow of a doubt, that Heavenly Father will perfect my imperfections and increase my understanding. My favourite quote from the Prophet Ezra Taft Benson sums up my testimony nicely... "Men and women who turn their lives over to God will find out that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living according to its teachings. As a Mormon, service to God and others is a central element of what we believe, and an aspect that I have learnt to really enjoy. At church I am the Music Chorister and have the role of choosing and leading the congregation in singing hymns. I am also a leader to the Young Single Adults, and enjoy learning, serving, and having fun with them.
