Hi I'm Allison

I've lived in Utah my entire life. I'm a young college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty boring person. I play piano, bake, read, write letters or stories for fun. I just finished my first year of college. I love kids. I'm kind of a loner. I've always wanted to be a writer, but the uncertainty of whether I'll be good or make any money has kept me from pursuing an English degree. I have watched enough movies and TV shows to last me a lifetime. I love quoting movies and books for fun. I have never done anything noteworthy, though I hope to change that.

Why I am a Mormon

Initially, I am a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family and got baptized when I was 8. Now, I am a Mormon because I know God is real, that He listens, and that He loves me. I could go on and on with stories of how He has answered my prayers, given me comfort and strength. The Book of Mormon has shaped my life in a way nothing else could. I feel right when I study it. I would be lost without my knowledge of this gospel. In the same way I know God is real, I know His son, Jesus Christ is my savior and my brother. I know He went through everything for me. Even those few times in my life where I've felt alone, in a darkness and doubt, I've known that living the gospel is always going to bring me greater joy than I could find elsewhere.

How I live my faith

I recently started working with 8-year-old cub scouts for my calling as a den leader. My partner is so on the ball, excited and happy all the time. We have fun. I probably could not do it without her. I have made great friends with the two other young single adults in my home ward. I probably would not have reached out to them had I not been "assigned" to them, since I am super shy. I am so glad I got to know them. We talk all the time, support each other with whatever, get together to do fun things whenever we have time. I try to exemplify patience, love, and kindness at work, school, church, home. I'll be honest, it is hard to be patient and loving at home sometimes, but I try.
