Hi I'm Julina

I've grown up in Southern California and have done schooling at BYU-Idaho and I am the fourth child of six.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year at BYU-Idaho and I just recently received my mission call to the North Dakota Bismark Mission and I am excited to serve, I have been planning to serve a mission for the church since I was 5. I grew up participating in the 4-H club, mainly in drill team. I love animals and have always had plenty in my house growing up. I am majoring in Early Childhood and Special Education because I love young children, especially those with special needs. I am used to working with people with special needs both because I have a brother with optic nerve hypoplasia and I was in the Best Buddies International club when I was in high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have yet to find a place that gives me as much joy and and contentment in my life. Through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have found more support and comfort through my trails in life. I feel peace and hope every time I read from the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today for he has given council that is specific to me and my needs and has also given knowledge to all people. God would not abandon His children so I do not think that He would leave us without a prophet to lead and guide us. I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and that they revealed truths relevant to our day and essential to our salvation. The beauty in this is that Joseph Smith was not perfect because no man but Christ was or ever can be perfect, but Joseph Smith was still chosen of God and if imperfect men can be prophets than I think that with all of my imperfections I can at least work to be someday worthy to live in Gods presence. I am not a Mormon because of a one time experience, I am a Mormon because of the daily confirmation I receive from God that this is the true church and that I am on the right path to come back to Him and be blessed by Him.

How I live my faith

I believe that living my faith really does come from my everyday living. It comes through with what I will and will not do with friends and coworkers. I live my faith in my daily routine of reading my scriptures and praying to my Father in Heaven multiple time a day. I believe that living my faith is not usually one distinct thing that people see, but something that can be seen in behaviors, actions, and treatment of others. In the church I have been a nursery leader, which is a teacher over the children who are 18 months to 3 years of age. I have enjoyed this calling more than I can say, it has helped me to see the importance of children and that they really are our best examples of how to live and to do as Christ said and become as little children. Part of me living my faith is my commitment to give 18 months of my life to God as a missionary and do His will and spread the joy and knowledge I have found in His gospel with the people I will meet. Without my faith I would not be the person I am today and would not have as much joy in my life as I do.
