Hi I'm Daniel

I have grown up in the Mormon Church my whole life. I am serving a mission in the Utah Salt Lake City East mission!

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I serve in areas in Utah and Wyoming. Before I became a missionary, I attended school at BYU-Idaho and was a leader for youth ages 16-17. I love to play basketball. I am an uncle to 5 nephews and 3 nieces and became an uncle at the age of 8.

Why I am a Mormon

I once had an experience where me and my parents went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving break in Idaho, I was 17 at the time. I had become sick to the point where I didn't eat any food, hardly drank any water, and I did not move from the couch acting as my bed for 5 days. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, me and my parents decided to make the 10 hours drive back to our home in California. It was the most miserable drive in my entire life. On Thanksgiving day, my mother took me to Health Clinic, this drive took 40 minutes, we waited for our turn to be helped, another 60 minutes. When they started diagnosing my symptoms they said "This boy has Pneumonia. You need to get him to the ER right now. We're not even going to call an ambulance because it will take too long." My mom drove me to the Hospital, another 20 minutes. When I got to the ER, they gave me an air mask. I overheard the doctor tell my parents that even with that mask I was only in-taking 70% of the oxygen that I should have. I should have died. The look on my mothers face was of deep concern and sadness, yet, I felt fine. I felt the best I had felt in 6 days. On that Thanksgiving day, I knew that my Heavenly Father had saved and preserved my life and had given me feelings of peace and comfort until these professionally trained Doctors found a way to cure my pneumonia and return my breathing to a saver level of oxygen intake. I know that Jesus Christ lives and I know that the spirit of the Lord was with me and I can never deny that.

How I live my faith

I participated in all the youth activities while I was a youth leader. We had camping trips, games nights, and other fun activities to help the boys feel welcome and loved. And that's really how I live my faith, by trying to show love and compassion for others without bringing them down in anyway. Everyone in this world has issues, the important thing is that we don't judge others based off of what trials they face and try to make people as happy as they can be.
