Hi I'm Mel

I grew up in Texas, amongst a culture of Tex-Mex, I'm a pretty fluent Spanglish speaker, and I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I've always liked trying different interests and have as many exciting experiences as I possibly can. Thus far I've dabbled in photography, dancing, painting, acting, writing, hiking, camping, and learning to play piano. There may be others, but those have so far been what have impacted my life the most. I definitely love listening to different kinds of music and singing along to mostly all of them, especially Disney music!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the love that our Heavenly Father has for me. I know that the gospel is true, and I know that being a member of the LDS church has blessed my life in many ways throughout my life. I know that Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for me to follow, so that I may return to Him one day with my family. I know I will and am excited for the day that I return to Him, and I can be amongst my Eternal Family.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as the Nursery leader of my ward. Being with the children has taught me just how much of a blessing each one of them is and how special they are. Being a child of our Heavenly Father is such an amazing blessing because of the love that He has and conveys for each of His children. I try my best to provide a proper foundation to each child of the understandings of the gospel, and I try to be a tool for our Heavenly Father so as to be a mediator for them and the love He has for them. I regularly attend my institute classes to further increase my knowledge of the church and its gospel. I will also soon be leaving for a mission to continue sharing the love that our Heavenly Father has for His children.
