Hi I'm Jenna Hervey

I am from San Diego. I am currently a graphic design student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in southern California. I grew up with a love for the beach, the ocean, and anything outdoors. I love to run, practice yoga, really anything that gets my body moving. I am currently finishing my third year of college. I am a graphic design major with a minor in business management. I love fashion, especially when it comes to swimwear. My love for the beach, ocean, and fashion has helped me develop my dream where I hope to someday make my own textiles and open my own swimwear company. I love to sew. I am adventurous and love anything that gets my adrenaline going. I picked up a new hobby of skateboarding and love it. I love being surrounded by my friends and family. I love being an auntie to three little ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel. I was lucky enough to grow up in the church being baptized at 8. Apart of me always knew it was true but I don't think I fully developed my own testimony until I was in college living on my own. When living on your own you really become more dependent on yourself. As there is no longer parents to depend on, you have to learn to do things on your own and make your own decisions. I had a really tough freshman year of college. I was homesick and was struggling with my testimony of this church. The following year I came up to school and within the first week knew I needed to make some changes to my life in order to truly be happy and have a better experience. After cutting out some negativity I turned towards the Lord, asking for forgiveness for my past and diligently working through the repentance process. I began reading my scriptures again and saying my prayers every night. This gospel is real. And Christ's Atonement is real. There is no better feeling that I have had in my entire life than the confirmation I received from God that this church is true and that I had been forgiven of the mistakes I had made. A weight was lifted off of my shoulders and it felt as though I was being embraced. And in this moment I knew. I knew that my Heavenly Father loved me and that He was proud of me. I know that through any trial, our Heavenly Father and Savior will be right there with us to embrace us and help us push through. I know, without a doubt, that I am the happiest when I am close to my Heavenly Father. I am the best version of myself when I am striving to live this gospel. There is no greater joy I have found in this life than what I have received from this gospel and it's incredible message.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday to participate in taking the sacrament as well as to fulfill my role or calling I was given in my ward (the area in which I attend church). I have taught lessons to the women of the ward while being at college with the women ranging from the ages of 18-30. I teach lessons on the family, marriage, love, faith, trials, and so many other topics that help others learn about this gospel and how we can do better and progress in this life. I was currently serving in a leadership position of this group of women in my ward. I look for opportunities to serve these women by visiting with them or sending reminders to let them know that I am thinking of them. I help organize events for the women in the ward so they have the opportunity to get to know the women living around them better. These activities help others learn how they relate to other women as we are all in the same point of life right now going to school. I try everyday to pray for these women as they may be going through trials, some even similar to my own.
