Hi I'm Adal Morales

Im from Boston and I grew up as a convert. Being a Mormon has changed my life!

About Me

I live in an inner city or the "Hood", I grew up around crime, violence, and drugs. I grew up in a tough neighborhood with gang members, drug dealers, and drug addicts. But living there has made me the person I am today. I come from a Guatemalan background, matter, in fact, a first generation in the United States. I am also the first one to attend college as well. I just finished my freshman year at BYU. I'm into sports and learning new things. I can play and watch whatever sport from golf, football, soccer, baseball, etc. I love sports so much I want to pursue a career in the sports world, doesn't matter what sport it is too! People see me as the kid that everyone knows about and who knows about different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Catholic religion. My parents were not very religious growing up, my parents would drink and party until we all joined the church when I was 5. My father had a man cave and every weekend he would spend hundreds on liquor. I basically grew up with drunk family members and strangers. But my family lifestyle has changed for the better. Since my father took just his two boys into the church, many blessings came from that. I would also say trails come as well, Satan wants us to not know the truth and blame the church. My family has gotten closer and live righteously to this day! Growing up in an urban area where people live a very different lifestyle from mine. I was the only few Mormon in my high school, where everyone drank, smoked, and partied. Having sex, doing drugs, and partying was normal, but I grew to avoid those things. I had faith that I will be strong to avoid those temptations, yeah there were times when I messed up but I learned from my mistakes. I especially learned that doing those things have only brought problems. Eventually, I learned that doing those things may seem cool and bring happiness but its only temporary. People drink or smoke to forget their problems and drown out the pain. I know and testify that true happiness lies in the gospel. My happiness is eternal and I don't need to rely on any substances. My faith has been tested and It has grown stronger because I know the Gospel is true. My life could have gone a whole another direction that leads me to a lifestyle of sadness. Till this day I am proud that my life revolves around the true gospel. I am proud to be Mormon!

How I live my faith

I just got my calling to serve as a missionary, I will give to years of my life to spread what I believe is true to others. I know that others need to hear the gospel and feel the joy I feel of being in the gospel. People may see it silly to give two years of my prime years to preach the gospel. I know what I'm doing is going to change the lives. There are people waiting to hear the words of Jesus Christ.
