Hi I'm Michael Evans

I grew up in Tucson, Arizona. I love school, sports, music, and dogs. I'm a big guy with an even bigger heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The first thing people usually say to me is "How tall are you?" so before you ask, I'm 6'7". And yes I play basketball, but I also play the cello! I always enjoyed playing sports with friends, but also challenging myself academically. I had straight A's in all of high school, and still managed to be in an orchestra and on a sports team. Overall I've done swim team, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and a little bit of tennis and ping pong. Dodge ball is also a family tradition. Musically, I've played the cello for 8 years, but also can play the ukulele and a little bit of piano. I love to read books, but I also enjoy getting out into the world and experiencing new adventures firsthand. Most of all I love my family and serving those around me. I plan to attend BYU in 2020 to study Engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the blessing of being raised in the church, surrounded by the blessings that come from a home of righteous individuals. After seeing and learning from my siblings and parents, I came to realize the importance and necessity of the things that they did at church and at home in living the gospel. I came to receive a personal confirmation that this church is the true restored church of Jesus Christ and that he loves and cares for each one of us here on Earth, and He wants us to be able to return to Him. That is why I am committed to serve him and to live by his will, so that I can recieve the blessings promised to those who live as he taught and still teaches.

How I live my faith

I live by following Christ's example to love and minister to others. In high school, I was a leader in a club dedicated to service in the community, and have organized and attended many service events. I've also been involved with the other youth my age in events such as church game nights, dances, and family history classes. I attend church with my family where we worship and learn how to live the gospel of Christ so that we can be sealed together for eternity.

What is being a Mormon like?

Michael Evans
Being a Mormon is as simple as following after the example of Christ. We serve and love those around us, and feel the joy that comes from the blessings of living righteously. It is not restricting, it is directing and frees one from the burdens of the world. Show more Show less
