Hi I'm Matt

I was born and raised in Utah. I've had the luxury of being able to travel to a handful of different states. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Lived in Utah my entire life. I lived the typical life over here. I graduated from high school not too long ago. While in high school I spent some time at a community college learning programming languages. My life was focused around school, work, and friends. However, now I will be leaving and serving a LDS mission here soon.

Why I am a Mormon

Most of my life I didn't really care about religion at all. I only went to church because my parents kind of pushed me in that direction. I never paid any attention while at church. I would usually just day dream the entire time. Never read the Bible or The Book of Mormon. Never cared to either. Religion always seemed like something that wasn't for me. However, that all changed when I entered into my freshmen year of high school. Which in Utah and if your a member is the year that you start going to seminary. It was slow at first but little by little I started to become interested in religion. The main reason I became interested is because it not only felt right but it also made sense. I could logically think through the doctrine. While everything can't be fully understood it still made sense. I was like a child that had first started to learn the basics of math. Like how that child couldn't understand everything neither could I. However, like that child my knowledge grew day by day, week by week, month by month, and year by year. I must add though that it only grew because I worked for it honestly with real intent to see if it was real or not. I didn't go in with a desire to disprove it. I simply experimented on what I was taught and applied a more scientific approach by using my old lifestyle as a control group and my new lifestyle as my test group. I did this to see if there was any difference at all between the two. And I can strongly testify to you that there is a difference. If there wasn't I would not be a Mormon today. Think about it, why would I serve a mission for two years of my life? In my opinion there's only a couple of explanations. First, maybe i'm insane. Second, I could be acting out of pressure from my parents and peers. Lastly, maybe i'm being honest and there could be something to what i'm saying. However, you must find your own answer. And I would invite you to do as I have done and experiment on the word.

How I live my faith

I'm not too old so I don't have a huge list of how I have lived my faith. However, I have participated in hometeaching for a handful of years now. Went to church pretty much every week. Lastly, I've decided to serve a LDS mission.
