Hi I'm Isaiah

I was born in Utah, and I have since lived in Idaho, Arizona, and Washington. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in high school, and I've participated in multiple activities during my high school years. Most recently, I auditioned for and have a part in our school musical. I have ran in track and field, played clarinet in marching band, tested my trivia in knowledge bowl, and even slid on ice for curling! (The sport with the brooms and the giant stone) I've enjoyed everything I have tried, but what I enjoy most is meeting new people with different interests.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church, but I have had to work over many years to gain my own testimony of Jesus Christ. The best place for anyone to start is with personal private communication with our Heavenly Father, because He is always waiting and willing to help us. The next place to go is the Book of Mormon. I have read through it and prayed on my own to know of its truth, and I can gladly say the the Book of Mormon is the word of God translated through His prophet Joseph Smith. His work and church are on the earth today, in the form of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Living prophets and apostles receive revelation from Heavenly Father in order to best lead His Church. When I was a freshman in high school, I saw the late President Thomas S. Monson in person at a large cultural celebration. Although throngs of people were around me, I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me in that moment that Thomas S. Monson was a prophet of God. Today, I can feel that same Spirit testify to me that President Russell M. Nelson has been called of God to lead His Church through divine revelation. I know Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us, and has provided us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be happy not only for this life, but to be happy for all of eternity. Amen.

How I live my faith

In my church ward I serve as the third assistant in the priest group. Normally there are only two assistants and a secretary, but we just had too many priests! Although it seems like a small task, it has taught me that every calling in the church is important when we serve others with faith. I have been most recently called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and will be teaching and serving the people of the Porto Alegre South Mission in the Portuguese language.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

When you learn of something interesting or exciting, it is often your first instinct to share it with others. Imagine how much more powerful that compulsion is if the knowledge you discover changes your life or gives you unimaginable joy! I have chosen to serve as a missionary in order to bring that joy and truth I've found into the lives of others, because I want others to know of the truth I have been blessed to know.
