Hi I'm Shanna

I grew up in Rexburg, Idaho. I have been a Mormon all of my life. I have an older sister & a younger brother who died as a baby.

About Me

I am the middle child with two siblings, a sister that is five years older and a younger brother who died as a baby. My paternal and maternal grandparents were members of the L.D.S. Church as were my parents. Most of my great-grandparents were also members. Others became converts to the L.D.S. Church. I grew up in Rexburg, ID among a largely L.D.S. population. I attended and graduated from high school in Rexburg and I also attended and graduated from L.D.S. Seminary. I took classes at Ricks College for and later attended B.Y.U. My parents operated a outdoor drive-in theater where I helped and learned to work as a child. I loved to spend time with my grandparents, and cousins as a child. I was my father's right-hand person and often went fishing with him. I have a great love for the out of doors, winter spring summer and fall. I had the opportunity of having the Gospel my home and have all of the Church programs. I am a tailor/seamstress by training. My interest in sewing began when I was 5, and has been a focus of my education and work experience for 60-years. My specialty areas of interest include: dresses, slacks, marriage dresses, & military uniforms.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His teachings. I am also a Mormon because of the sacrifices made by ancestors, who were taught the Gospel and felt the confirmation of its truthfulness through the Holy Ghost and decided to be baptized. These ancestors set the course through generations that ultimately made possible for me to be born in the covenant to parents sealed in the temple. As a mother, I have been blessed with five children (2-boys and 3-girls) and it has been my responsibility, with my husband, to raise up our posterity to have testimonies of the Gospel in their lives and to continue the legacy of my ancestral past.

How I live my faith

I was taught as a child the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have tried to live the teachings that were taught to me in my childhood. I have faithfully participated in living the tenets of the L.D.S. Church throughout my life. I have had the opportunity to travel as a student and after marriage and have had opportunity to live the Gospel by example, by sharing my beliefs, by sharing Book of Mormons, and by serving others. I have taught and served in the L.D.S. Primary, Young Women, and Women's Relief Society, and scouting organizations from my youth through my adulthood. I recently participated in helping to prepare costumes for the recent re-dedication of the L.D.S. Idaho Falls Temple, Idaho Falls, ID.
