Hi I'm Isaac Haws

I'm a student athlete. I'm the oldest sibling. I earned a baseball scholarship. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a multisport high school athlete. I wrestled, played linebacker in football, and was the captain of the baseball team. I earned a baseball scholarship to play at Columbia Basin Community College. I love the outdoors, including camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. I'm very active and outgoing. When I was 15 my uncle passed away in a work accident and it was a huge blow to me and my family, but through this gospel I was and am able to find hope, and comfort. I was a member of our schools student government and helped plan school events that everyone could enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know this church is true. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and every time it bears a deeper, stronger witness of Jesus Christ and other doctrinal truths. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I've prayed about it and asked God to make its truth known unto me. Through this experience I've come to know the Book of Mormon is true. I've come to know that God answers our prayers when we ask with real intent and have a sincere desire to know. I know that because the Book of Mormon is true Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. I know that because he was a true prophet, he was able to restore the true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that this is the true church. Anything that is good comes from God and this Church has done nothing but good for me and every other member. I'm not ashamed to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Through the church I'm able to participate in the community a lot. In my quorums we do a lot of service activities. At least once a month sometimes 2 or 3 times a month we do yard work or other community service activities. It allows me to be involved and be apart of something bigger than me. It allows me to be more selfless and focus on helping others instead of myself. One of my callings in the church is to teach the 15 year old class which has taught me to be more understanding and how to be a better listener.
