Hi I'm Gable

I grew up in Utah. I love to play volleyball and fish. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I enjoy hunting and fishing a ton! I go as often as I can and think its a blast. I love running and play volleyball on competitive clubs. I have played the piano for 12 years and finally like it after about 8. I'm a die hard BYU(blue and true) fan and am currently preparing to serve an LDS mission this summer in Africa!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the LDS church my whole life. It could be really easy to just be a member not to disappoint my family or because i'm already in it but if that was the reason I would have been out along time ago. A time came in my life where I could no longer rely on what my parents told me without knowing the truths I was taught for myself. I was taught every gospel principle from the time I was little but knowledge and belief are two different things. I put there words to the test to do as Moroni directs in Moroni 10:5-7 to as for myself if these things were true. I read the book of Mormon cover to cover and I didn't realize it then but the spirit would testify to me of it as I was reading. I knelt down one day and asked if all I had learned my whole life was true. I felt nothing. But how? I had been promised that I would recieve an answer and it hadn't come! Then I heard these words. "Gable, you already know. Every time you learned of me and of my gospel you knew as I testified of you so why do you need to ask now?" As I thought back upon my life little moments where I felt "this is right" came into my mind. I am not a Mormon because its an easy way through life or a expectation of me. I am a Mormon because I know. I know that Jesus Christ died for me individually so that the imperfect me can one day be perfect and that my mortal body will one day be immortal. I know that God loves each one of his children and has restored his church upon this earth in these latter days with modern apostles and prophets like in the days of old because he loves us. I love my lord and savior and know that it is through him that I can be saved.

How I live my faith

I am currently an assistant to the bishop for our group of young men in which we are able to bless the sacrament each week. I home teach two amazing families who are great examples to me. I strive to live the gospel everyday by trying to treat those around me how Christ would and share the gospel with every chance i get.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe that the purpose of this life is to get a physical body, learn by making choice, gain experience and learn from them, experience joy and sadness, build the relationships with those we love (giving us a glimpse of the love god has for us), and to ultimately return back into the presence of our heavenly father and become like him!
