Hi I'm Kalyx Christensen

I grew up in the US! I’m called to serve a mission in the Philippines. I’m a Mormon!

About Me

I’m a missionary of the church serving in the Philippines! Prior to that I was a college student! I’m currently putting my studies on hold in the Pre-Med field. Emphasis in Ophthalmology! I grew up dancing and drawing mostly. Throughout my years growing up i have been a part of a very athletic family. I eventually ran track, cross country, and tennis! I’m a music enthusiast (because of dance) and I love all things Disney. There’s surprisingly a lot of gospel references in their movies if you pay attention! I plan to return to college and continue my studies post-mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe we’re all on our plan of life. We all go through different experiences, hardships, challenges, and setbacks! Both good and bad! I believe we have a choice for everything we do in this life. I believe and know we have no control over the consequences of those choices. I do know and believe that we have a God in our midst and a Son who came to earth a LONG time ago with a prophesied purpose full of unconditional love and selfless compassion for those it would affect. I know and believe we all have a relationship with our God. That though we cannot physically see him on this earth, we can see his hand and we can see his hand by pondering our day and reflecting on our choices and the result of those choices. We can see him answer prayers through people and experiences. We can see the influence of the Holy Spirit change ourselves from inside out. I choose this church and the gospel everyday because i see God’s hand in my life more because of it. I choose it because it brings peace of mind that their is no end to anyone’s life. Our spirit lives on. As do our loved ones. Think of death as just a pause, not a stop. Because of His Son and what he came to earth to do, there is an end to pain but not an end to life. Life is eternal. By choosing Him and His will and aligning it, we are much more than we actually think we are. Our worth is more than this world can ever offer.

How I live my faith

I live day by day with the mantra in my head “What would Jesus Christ do?” And I hope by doing so I’m becoming a better example for myself and for others! I have a position in my church in my city as a part of the leadership for the women ages 18-24! I would what would be called a 2nd counselor! I am in charge of organizing the visits for the women and as well as the teaching assignments each Sunday during our third hour. I have the opportunity to get to know the girls that come to church and ones that can’t or are unable to! Even ones that are visiting are welcomed in as our own! We’re all God’s children!
