Hi I'm Brigham Drake Andersen

I am a triathlete going to Arizona State University, about to go on a mission to Tuxtla Gutierrez Mexico, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I come from a family of 6. I am the oldest of 3 siblings. I also have many cousins on both sides of my family that live close by me. I love my family. Every Sunday, all the aunts, uncles, grand parents and cousins get together for dinner. It is a great way for our family to stay connected and close to each other. I currently go to a university, where I compete in the Triathlon Club. I started doing triathlons my freshman year of high school, along with swim, cross country, and track and field. Doing sports in high school helped me to learn team work, camaraderie, and gave me life long friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, so I relied heavily on my parents testimony. It wasn't until I was in high school that I truly had a testimony of Christ and his church. It didn't come all at once. It came from years of study of the Book of Mormon and the Bible. In high school I took a class called seminary, in which we studied those books. Having that extra hour of religious study five days a week helped me to feel the spirit daily. I began to truly look at the doctrines taught by the prophet in this day, and prophets in the days of old and realize that this Church, the Church of Christ, is the true church of God. It is the same Church that was in Adam's day, and Christ's day, and Moses's day, and it has been reestablished on the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting God and my family before everything else. Because of my faith, I sacrifice certain things that either the prophet has instructed us to avoid, or that I believe will bring me closer to God. For example, Sunday is the day of the Lord. because we are supposed to dedicate Sunday to God, I don't compete in sports on Sundays. Because of my faith I am also leaving my home, schooling, and sports for two years to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in the country of Mexico. I am excited to serve the Lord as I work to bring the people of Mexico closer to God.
