Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Utah and enjoy weightlifting and I hope to have a future career in chemistry. I am a Mormon :)

About Me

Well, I guess something about me is that I threw shot put and discus in high school, along with participating in orchestra by playing the viola. In 11th grade I also got really interested in weightlifting and even competed with other high schools. I also like to read and am currently in college, majoring in chemistry. What I will hopefully be able to accomplish with my degree is I would some day like to be working in a lab as a forensic chemist.

Why I am a Mormon

I think one of the reasons why I'm a Mormon is just because I've learned to love this gospel so much. I think that through this gospel I have been able to find peace in my own life, even when everything is falling apart. I remember the first time that I knelt down on my knees and prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, and then I remember the frustration of feeling that I didn't get an answer. However, what I didn't know at the time was that I was getting answers every day. As I continued to read the Book of Mormon I could feel in my heart that it was true and that Joseph Smith really did obtain the plates and translate them.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is mostly by doing the simple things that we are told to do since I was a kid, which are to go to church, pray, and read (sometimes called CPR). Doing these things help me to have the strength to last through difficult times, and they also help me to have a constant thing in my life when everything else is crazy. Other ways that I live my faith is by being of service to others, whether that be kind words to a friend when they're having a bad day, or helping someone with their homework for hours. Like what they scriptures say in Mosiah 2:17 "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
