Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in North Dakota. I love outdoor activities and am always down for an adventure. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student. I love going to classes and being able to learn new things. I love hanging out with my friends. I enjoy playing card and board games and I can get pretty competitive. I grew up will five older brothers and so I love sports and outdoors activities. Soccer and hockey are my top favorite sports and I'm always willing to go camping, whether it's in the snow or in the heat. I also love music. I play both the piano and the violin. A weird quirk about me is that I love to eat the skin on kiwis.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me direction in my life. It taught me how important it is to love other people and I do my best to serve that. It also has allowed me to understand that I have a Savior and older Brother who atoned and died for me, despite all my imperfections. Through His sacrifice, I can have the strength to keep going and I can be forgiven all the mistakes I make. I am a Mormon because it fulfills me and pushes me to be better.

How I live my faith

As I grew up in North Dakota, I had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people of different religions who taught me how important service is. I volunteered at nursing homes and in peer mentoring. I am currently in a service group called ACCESS, which is similar to Big Brother/Big Sister. I love serving with kids and trying to make them laugh.

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are members of The Churh of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are Christians and therefore followers of Jesus Christ. We are normal people. We smile, we laugh, we enjoy love, and we make mistakes. We focus on trying to become our best and emulate Christ. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Mormons believe that our bodies were created in the image of God, our Heavenly Father. He, and our Savior Jesus Christ, have bodies like ours. Our bodies is also the house of our spirit. Our spirit dwells in our body. Because of these things, we have a duty to take care of our body. It shows respect to our Heavenly Father and allows us to better serve Him. Keeping our body clean and taken care of us allows us to grow closer to Him and feel his presence. Show more Show less
