Hi I'm Ellie

I'm Ellie, I was born in California and raised in Idaho. I'm a daughter, sister, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of six. I love my family so much. My dad is white and my mom is Basque. The Basque country is the region between Spain and France. I'm the oldest child so I babysat my younger siblings a lot, maybe that's why I love kids so much. Last semester, I volunteered in Thailand teaching English to kids. I love kids and I want to find a way to help all of the kids in the world. I love being outside and having fun. I love gardening and hope to have a huge garden when I'm older. Growing up we had a big garden in our backyard and my parents taught me to appreciate work through yard work. I also love playing tennis, ukulele, singing, and hanging out with friends and family. I'm currently attending University and preparing to serve a mission in June.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me truly happy. I learned this by finding out for myself if the Mormon church's teachings are true. I know that when we follow Jesus Christ and keep God's commandments we can all feel joy, peace, and comfort. I know that when we follow Christ's example of loving others, we can be deeply happy. God lives, God loves all of us no matter what we've done or where we've been, and God wants all of us to be happy. It's real, I know it, and I want everyone to know it.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week and the temple once a week too. I try to be as involved in church as I can. I don't currently have a calling in my ward, however, I don't need a formal calling to serve and love. When I was growing up my mom taught me to bloom where I'm planted. To me this means to love and lift those around me no matter where I am in the world. Every Christmas I participate in a community choir where people from all different faiths come together to celebrate Christ's birth. I also love to volunteer for the American Red Cross. Jesus Christ willingly offered genuine service and love to anyone who needs it. I try to do the exact same thing.
