Hi I'm Brenden Orocu

I was born and raised in the wonderful state of Colorado. I’m a genius in the world of wildlife. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

Well my interests mostly are in wildlife more specifically mammals. Ever since I was little, I loved reading and studying about animals. I thought they were so interesting and cool! I was amazed at how many beautiful species there are. I wanted to learn a lot about them. So I read books and watched documentaries about animals. My first merit badge in Scouts was Mammal Study. As I got older I started to read really advanced mammalogy books. By the time I was 14, I was reading college level Encyclopedias. So I plan on at least majoring in some biology degree. I’m still figuring out which biology degree I want to go into though. I’m also goin to go to BYU-I for at least one year. Then I will try to transfer into BYU Provo. Although we’ll see what happens when I get to that point. I also like watching sports preferably football and soccer. While I’m not very good at playing sports I don’t mind playing a couple of times. I also really enjoy watching movies. It’s one of my favorite things to do outside of observing and studying about animals and biology. My favorite movie is probably either the Back to the Future series or Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church makes the most sense. It fills many common questions that people have right now. To be able to know the answers to those questions helps me so much. I grew up in the church so while I didn’t have a conversion story like other converts to our church. I do know that I have felt some of the same feelings that they have. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. It has all the doctrine that has been revealed to us today from Heavenly Father. He talks to us everyday sometimes without us knowing he does. He loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ to establish this church and the atonement as well as to sacrifice for our sins. That’s how much Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father loves us. Joesph Smith is a true prophet of God and all other prophets after him. I know the Book of Mormon to be true. It is another testament to our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being more like Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came to this Earth as a perfect being. He taught those in his lifetime but is also teaching us right now. I know that if i try to be like him, I’ll be blessed in so many ways. Some of my callings in my ward have been to help and serve others. For instance, I am a home teacher. As a home teacher me and my dad go to two families that we have been assigned to, and give them a lesson every month. We also help our families with anything they need help in. Like my dad and I helped one of our families move. Another calling I had was to be a part of a youth group member. We discuss ideas and activities we should do together with our youth group in our Stake. We also help set up activities like youth dances. Sometimes I have been given opportunities to teach the youth in my ward. We will discuss or talk about the important roles we have or gospel topics. This gives me the opportunity to prepare to serve my mission.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Brenden Orocu
Families are one of the most important gifts from Heavenly Father to us. They help us to learn, love, grow, and teach one another. At times they can help celebrate important life goals being accomplished and other times they can provide a shoulder for us to cry on. They help comfort us. They share our joys and our sorrows, faults, trials, and achievements. In Heavenly Father’s plan, he made sure that family is a central part of his wonderful plan for his children. In the premortal world we were one huge family. But until we gained bodies we would never be like him. So everyone on this Earth made the decision that we would go to Earth. Heavenly Father knew that it would be difficult if we were to go there all by ourselves. So he created families to help us come back to him once we reached Earth and to remind us that we are all still his children. We may not have been able to pick the exact form and shape of our bodies or what conditions we want in our birth, but we can choose instead to make our families stronger and happier ever day. We also receive the wonderful blessing to be sealed as a family to stay united together for all eternity. I know all of this to be true. Show more Show less
