Hi I'm Robert

Dad of 8. Grandpa of 16. Born and raised in Ashton, Idaho. Cowboy at heart and enjoy the outdoors.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm and ranch in Ashton, Idaho. From my earliest childhood the outdoors, hunting and fishing were very important. We were taught early in life the value and importance of hard work. We rose early, well before the sun came up, and retired late, we’ll after the sun went down. The days were long, but enjoyable. We were given responsibility and were accountable for accomplishing many things. I am grateful to understand responsibility and accountability and have taught and instilled these alums in my kids. I also enjoyed most sports, but especially rodeo, football, basketball and baseball. I played football for a year in college. I began working with horses at a young age and training horses is a passion. I believe that the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man. We used horses for ranch work, hunting and rodeo. I believe that we get out of life exactly what we are willing to put into it. I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, by Faithful and Loving parents.

Why I am a Mormon

I attended church with my family from a very early age. However, it was later that I had a strong desire to know for myself the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Book of Mormon. I study these by reading and pondering the scriptures and earnest prayer. I know without doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ’s true church restored in these latter days at His direction. He called Prophets anciently and in the early 1800’s called a Prophet, Joseph Smith, to restore His Church and His Gospel, as He organized it anciently. The Priesthood and Priesthood keys are again restored to the earth. There is an uninterrupted succession of Priesthood and Priesthood Keys, since the restoration of all things through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was given the golden plates, on which were written, in ancient writing, the teachings of ancient prophets that inhabited this American continent before the birth of the Savior. These scriptures are a companion to the scriptures in the Bible and together will bring us to our Savior. The Book of Mormon testifies of a living and loving Savior, Jesus Christ. These things I know, because I have prayerfully study them and received a personal testimony and witness by the Spirit, the Holy Ghost, of their truthfulness. With that knowledge, I am blessed and because I am blessed, I must be a member of His church. I must be a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The fullness of His Gospel and His Priesthood can only be found in one church, the Mormon church, or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Without His complete and Gospel, there is confusion and unanswered questions and incomplete direction. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the complete Gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ. His Gospel, His complete Gospel is worthy of our attention and devotion. I love the Lord and I love being a Mormon. It continually blesses me and my family.

How I live my faith

I know that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Because I know this, I strive to be like Him. Am I perfect? No. But I am committed to strive and I have promised to my Savior that I will never give up, or give in to the enticements of the world and the adversary. I promise that I will get up one more time than I fall down. Failure only offers opportunities to grow and improve. I strive to live a Christ centered life. I love the Lord and His Gospel with my whole heart. I have a wonderful wife and 8 wonderful kids and 16 grandkids. They inspire me to want to be better...even the best I can be. I study the Scriptures and the teachings of latter day church leaders daily in order to nourish and nurture my testimony. I pray morning and night and feel the promptings of the Holy Spirit guiding me. I attend church weekly with a happy and loving heart. When I make mistakes and fall short of where the Lord wants me to be, I repent and seek the strength of the Spirit to guide me back. I have been blessed to serve in many Church callings and help others. When I serve others, it strengthens me to be His hands and help them as He would. I love the Gospel.
