Hi I'm Madelyn

I was born in Idaho. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Even though I have never been very far from my home, one of my dreams is to travel the world. God has created so many beautiful creations on this earth and I want to see them all! One of my many other dreams included going on a mission (it wasn't always my dream because I didn't think it was something I could do) and now I have to the amazing opportunity to fulfill that dream. Some of my favorite things to do include: having movie nights with lots of candy, going on hikes, reading books, and just being able to spend time with my family. I went to a semester of college at BYUI, and it truly taught me how to be a responsible adult. I am constantly learning something new. With the love and support from my friends and family, and especially the Lord, I know that no task is impossible.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in truth and the goodness of the restored gospel. When I obey God's commandments, I see the difference in my life. The world is a little brighter and my joy grows as I recognize those wonderful things all around me that are because of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I myself, have been confused, depressed, weak, and those are the times when I have had to give myself to the Lord, and He becomes my strength. I know the Book of Mormon to be true. I haven't had any profound experiences as I have prayed to know it's truth, but I do know that as I read my heart feels peace. I know that Joesph Smith restored the true gospel with the divine help of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that we have prophets here today who lead and guide the people, that they give us directions from God and that we should heed their counsel. Heavenly Father has answered my prayers and continues to bless me even sometimes when I don't deserve it. This church makes me realize my full potential, gives me peace during my trials, and I know it to be true.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church, I have had numerous chances to serve in callings and services. I've taught young children in the Primary, which was an exciting time for me to see their testimonies grow. I've been President of the young women of my ward and they all continue to inspire me to this day. Participating in lessons has not always been easy for me because I have not always been good with my words or trying to convey what I really wanted to say. It is a continuing struggle for me, but I find hope with the Lord and his Atonement, and in Heavenly Father's plan for me. I truly have loved getting to know the members of my wards and to see their desire to serve God.
