Hi I'm Mandy

I am an hiking enthusiast, photography lover, avid journal writer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student pursuing a degree in Accounting. I love to hike, rock climb, repel, and go on spontaneous adventures of all kinds. Although I love the outdoors, I do not play many sports other than cross country because I am not the most coordinated or graceful people. There is a tender place in my heart for children and babies, and caring for them is some of my most fulfilling work. When you first meet me I can come off as reserved and shy, but I am an extrovert at heart and love being near people and getting to know them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a witness for myself that this is the true and everlasting gospel of Christ. The gospel is simple enough for a child to understand and profound enough to cause a lifetime of study and learning. As a young girl I knew of its truth because I could understand it. The answers to life's greatest questions could be answered in a class full of 5-year-olds. As I grew to adulthood I knew of its truth because it testified of a loving God who provides a way for all to return to Him. Through this gospel, everyone has a purpose, everyone can learn, and everyone has the potential to become more than they are. The gospel is beautiful. It opens our minds and hearts to the will of God, but not on by the word of man alone. We read in the Book of Mormon that if we should "ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost". You do not need to take the word of others to know it is true, you can find out for yourself that it is true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life in every sense. I do what I can each day to act as the Savior would act. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon often, I pray to my Father in Heaven each day, I dress modestly, I don't drink coffee or tea, and I don't do drugs. I attend church every Sunday and participate in church activities and service projects throughout the week. I speak in church and give lessons to my peers on the teachings of the Savior. I visit women in my congregation and make sure they are doing well. However, the most important way that I show my faith is with my heart. I take great care that my heart is always turned towards my Savior and His Atonement. I strive to be grateful for my gifts and blessings, and use them to help others. I live my faith by acting as Christ would act.
