Hi I'm Terry Scott

I grew up in Kansas and Missouri. I have been a cowboy and a firefighter. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was a cowboy for the first 29 yrs of my life. I then became a firefighter for the City of Manhattan for 26 yrs. I was a single parent of a daughter. The missionaries tracted into me I wasn't really looking for anything. I had no idea what I had been missing out on. Most of the questions I had were answered before I even asked them. My daughter and I were baptized on the same day. I was given the privilege of baptizing my daughter. I met a wonderful lady through a single adult activity she let me know about after we met online. We were married civilly about a year later. We have since been sealed in the Temple. She had 3 children from a previous marriage of which 1 was still at home. I enjoy hunting, golf, woodwork. I was also an EMT-I. I have been looking forward to serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since becoming a member.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything the missionaries were expounding to me seemed to ring true. I knew that that is what a loving Heavenly Father would want for His children. I was 38 when I was introduced to the gospel. I had attended a few churches growing up but nothing really rang true to me. This fits for me and I am so blessed to be a member.

How I live my faith

While I was still working I taught CPR classes in the community and organized a few classes for church. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them through home teaching. You can build up some strong friendships when you sincerely care about people. I was an 11 yr old scout leader.
