Hi I'm Roger Neil

I grew up in Gila, New Mexico. I love to play basketball. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I enjoy basketball! I like to shoot guns and do other various outdoors stuff. I'm going to graduate with about 20 other kids in my high school class. I am 6'3'' and built like a football player but have never played on a team so I play with my brothers a lot. There is not a lot to do out here in the tiny area that I live so I spend a lot of time with family and friends going to the lake and river.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family of this faith! I have gone to church my entire life and so I went to primary and Sunday school and I listened to all the adults. This was were I started my testimony. It grew with my knoweldge and as I read the scriptures as instructed and prayed about it, that was a huge converting factor. I have fasted and prayed and talked to church leaders and in all that has to do with the church, there is an undenyable spirit there. It is seriously the most awesome feeling ever. As I live the standards taught and follow all the commandments that have been given, I can feel the joy and blessings that come. They are there. I am a Mormon because I've gained that testimony and felt the spirit and seen the blessings that come from all that I know as being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In our youth activities we take turns planning and making activities happen. In church a lot of times I will prepare and teach lessons. I try to set as good of an example as I can when I am around others. I live gospel standards and I see that that example can really impact people. When they see this they often ask questions that I can answer. I love basketball and so I like to get a bunch of friends together and we all go shoot around in the gym in my church. They ask all sorts of things about what they see. I home teach a recent convert and he asks a lot of different questions that I can answer because I have learned from personal experiences.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Roger Neil
We have our free agency so we can live our lives however we want. However, we are also taught standards to follow to become more Christlike and as we live this way we are blessed. So we follow these standards such as not drinking, smoking, cussing, getting tattoos, or do things to harm others etc. This is our choice but we are counseled to live in ways that Christ would appreciate. We pray together often and read scriptures but our lives are not all that different from others other than that we might observe and keep other standards. Show more Show less
