Hi I'm Jacob Matheson

I am from Parowan, Utah. I love football, baseball, horses, and hunting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an 18 year old, and I just received my mission call. I have grown up in a small town where everyone is basically a great big family. I played football and baseball throughout high school. My friends and I usually like to go shooting or hunting in our free time. Another activity that I love to do is to ride my horse in the mountains. I really enjoy reading as well. I like to be very active and do all sorts of activities. I have worked on the farm since I was little and I still enjoy working on the farm. It has taught me many lessons in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon my entire life, I still had challenges though. My parents were divorced when I was eleven years old. Since that time I basically had to become the man of the house and help my mom in whatever ways that I could. We later moved, and we began going to church a lot more. This is where we felt the love of the Savior. It was through our neighbors and ward members. They showed so much kindness and I never felt more at home and at peace. I know that the Savior has had a plan for me all this time, and now all the pieces are starting to fall into place for me to see. Life is so much more easier when I put the Lord first in all things and that is no joke. My testimony means a lot to me because I know that the world has its challenges and is getting a lot more wicked. Everyone faces temptations everyday and if I know what is right and I keep my covenants with my Father in Heaven, I will never be led astray. Christ knows everyone's pains and afflictions, He is there for everyone no matter what the circumstances may be. You are NEVER ALONE. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and I will continue to do His will.

How I live my faith

My stake and ward is a great big family and we are always looking out for one another. For example, during the Summer of 2017 our mountain burned up entirely. During the entire month of June the entire town was super busy with firefighters from all over the United States. Our stake did whatever it took to keep our town safe and to volunteer to help out in whatever ways we could. In August after the fire was out, our town was flooding very bad. This took the entire stake to take care of the town and everybody's homes. I am a hometeacher as well and it has been a big blessing in my life because I now know the people very personally and can share my testimony with them in many ways.
