Hi I'm Carol

I live in Utah, USA. I am a retired Preschool Teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My family is very important to me. My husband and I have seven children and twenty-four grandchildren. We also have a great- grandchild and three others on the way. We have a monthly Family Home Evening where all those that live nearby come together for dinner, visiting, and a short spiritual lesson. We learn what is happening in everyone's lives. This keeps us close. For those that do not live nearby, we call and Skype weekly. We also call the local children weekly. We love our family very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church has the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the only true church on the earth today. Other churches have some of the truth and do a lot of good, but only The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has all of the truth and Priesthood authority. After Jesus's apostles died, the authority or Priesthood was taken from the earth because of the wickedness of the people. The people were changing the doctrine and ordinances that Jesus established. They even had a conference to decide how they were going to believe. This was the theories of man, not God. The truth had to be restored as Jesus had established it. Therefore, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ chose a fourteen-year old boy, who had not been set in his thinking as an older person might be, to bring forth the true church and the authority of the Priesthood to preach and perform ordinances in His Church. That boy was Joseph Smith. I know he was a true prophet and that our prophet today is Russell M Nelson, who has the authority from it being handed down through the other prophets unto this day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I have been a teacher and a leader in some of the groups of our church. I have served in the school PTA when my children were young. I have been a Cub Scout Leader, worked at the welfare cannery for our church, and helped take in meals to people who have been ill or in the hospital. These are just examples of how I have served others. In about a month I will dedicate almost two years of my life to serve the people in South Africa as a missionary. I do not say these things to brag, but to acknowledge that I have been blessed by the service I give to other's. The Lord has said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." (Matthew 22:37-39). We show love to others by serving them. When we serve our fellow man, we are also serving God. I feel happy when I serve.
